The Dance — Part 5

dancingThe dance is most joyful when there is chemistry between the partners.  Chemistry is as hard to define as color or music.  It seems that dance partners either have it or they don’t.  I’m pretty sure that it doesn’t come automatically.  It has to be earned.  It takes time to have chemistry.  It happens when you’ve had enough relationship to understand your partner’s motivations.  You have been through some hard times together.  Chemistry must be connected to respect, trust, understanding, admiration, if not love.  These are the elements that when combined produce the reaction of chemistry.  Continue reading

It’s one of my favorite memories and we have it recorded on video.  Zachary, our firstborn, was three.  Colby’s Missing Memory had just been released on VHS (let me explain for the young people…it’s kind of like an 8 track…no that really won’t work.  It’s a plastic black rectangle thing we watched movies on before the DVD).  The star, Colby, was a large robot.  He was sad because he had lost his memory of what friendship was.  His band of young singers and dancers helped him find it again.  Continue reading

Missing the Mark?

Most of us have defined sin as “missing the mark.”  That is a pretty good rendering of the Greek word for sin.  But does missing the mark really seem so bad?
